  • Abstract
In this paper, the performance of a sensor system based on a piezoresistive accelerometer for automotive applications was improved by using a block least-mean-square (BLMS) adaptive filter. The accelerometer was tested for a multi-frequency acceleration excitation and the results of the experiment showed that for this type of excitation, which is typical of real-life problems in today´s cars, the performance of the BLMS adaptive filter was better than the one of conventional filter.
