Abstract :
This paper is concerned with the technical illustration rules for IETM. Technical Illustration is the most important part of IETM. One difficulty urgent need to solve is how to extract the complex production process of technical illustration effectively. To deal with this difficulty, a detailed study of technical illustration rules was conducted based on engineering experience and the Hollink framework for the classification of image descriptions by users. First, this paper introduced some basic contents and concepts about IETM and its technical illustration, and then analyzed the Hollink framework which was aimed to resolve the mismatch between user needs and image retrieval techniques. Second, this paper gave the general requirements and principles of technical illustration rules, which were based on large practical experiences in project implementation and the understanding of the Hollink framework. Third, this paper gave the specific requirements and detailed content of technical illustration rules, such as the conversion between 2D graphics and 3D graphics, the preprocessing of 2D graphics, the callout of illustration, the distribution layer of illustration and the layout of illustration. Finally, this paper described the concrete effect when the technical illustration rules were used to complete actual projects. The practicality of these rules has been proved very well by China Academy of Engineering Physics. These rules can be used as an effective solution to these uncomfortable problems when we take together the finishing division of work between team members.
