Perfect reconstruction (PR) QMF systems have been studied extensively so far because of their application to subband coding, which is a powerful method for compressing speech, image and video data. Multidimensional PR QMF systems are more complicated than one dimensional ones, particularly with regard to the method of decimation. In this paper, we prove various theorems for 2-dimensional QMF systems
