  • Abstract
    It is challenging to achieve graceful quality degradation in an error-prone environment, since channel errors can drastically deteriorate the quality of the video, classical error concealment schemes commonly utilize surrounding correctly reconstructed frame or motion information for concealment. In this paper, An efficient spatio tempral boundary matching algorithm(STBMA) is proposed to recover the lost MV in the lost frames. we apply a weighted motion estimation scheme by minimizing a distortion function which exploits both spatial and temporal smoothness properties of the video signals. The experiment results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can recover better quality images compared with classic boundary matching algorithm(BMA).
