  • Abstract
Service composition has received much interest from users on its development tools. Users may often need to use not only a single service, but also several services, and in some cases, use those services in combination with their own local applications. Users need a simple and interactive tool for service composition development to realize their needs without writing any program codes, and to reduce realization time. In our previous work, we proposed the software architecture for ad hoc service federation of Web and local resources. This architecture enables users to directly manipulate visual components, and to create new composite components for the creation of services that use Web applications, Web services, and local applications. In this architecture, every service composition is done by users´ manipulation. In this paper, we will propose a new software architecture, called a PadLogSpace, for extending the service registration function and the service matching function of our previously proposed PadSpace to provide a semantic rule-definition mechanism for the service composition development.
