Innovative Ideas Study on Low-Carbon Urban Planning under Global Climate Change

Cities are the main sources of CO₂ emissions and other greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and low-carbon urban planning can provide effective and essential methods to control them during the construction and operation process of cities. The aim of this paper is to explore innovative ideas of low-carbon urban planning in our country and to examine the scenarios toward the realization of sustainable cities. This paper discusses the theories and practices of low-carbon urban planning. Finally, future development direction in China is been proposed.
