  • Abstract
Hotspot analysis has widespread applications in many different domains including criminology, disease informatics, and security informatics. As a result, there has been a large body of research work done in this area. Many techniques developed in previous research are complex and require significant processing time. This paper presents a simple yet effective projection-based method to deliver high quality result in a time efficient manner. The demonstration of an implementation of this method in a real system highlights its pragmatic advantages. Experiments with real-world data demonstrate the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed method.
