  • Abstract
The matching relationship between ship form, fishing nets and mean catch per haul of trawlers was investigated. According to the connection of these parameters, Index-weight method is used to formulated an optimization model of ship forms of trawler by taking the ship length, molded breadth and depth, block coefficient and ship speed as optimal variables and net present value, fishing effect coefficient, investment payback period, fuel consumption per ton of fishing, cost per ton fishing as economical evaluation indexes of ship forms. A case study is given which a large middle-water trawler is working on course of South American water, and the results show that the optimal trawler´s type is in keeping with the present-day trawlers´ types that have good economic benefit.
