  • Abstract
    Due to the high energy consumption of existing public buildings in the hot summer and cold winter zone, it is necessary to implement energy-efficient retrofit of the large-scale public buildings. In this paper, the energy-efficient retrofit measures have been studied based on the bioclimatic characteristics in Ningbo City, which is located in the hot summer and cold winter zone. The development of building energy efficiency as well as the climatic characteristics in the hot summer and cold winter zone have firstly been introduced in this paper. So, the energy consumption of existing public buildings and the dominant factors that influence the energy consumption have been analyzed using climatic characteristics in Ningbo. Finally some energy-efficient retrofit measures have been proposed according to the bio-climate in Ningbo City.
