Title :
Standard session during CWTM 2011
Abstract :
A Special Session on Standards in Current, Waves, and Turbulence Measurements was held Tuesday March 22 from 1 PM to 3PM. This was an open discussion moderated by Sandy Williams who is Technological Committee Co-Chair with Steve Holt of the OES Standards Committee and Don Barrick who is President and CEO of CODAR SeaSonde. The agenda for our discussion included the following issues: Results of our discussion were in most cases assignment of a lead to further explore the issues and these leads are indicated below: speed calibration in tow tanks; speed calibration in flumes; world wide current calibration standards listed as ISO 3455; directional resolution; frequency resolution; training; education; spatial sampling; remote sensing; wave sensing; and Lagranian drifters.
