Abstract :
The design of sequential detection tests is considered for serial search problems in which more than one candidate hypothesis can be tested simultaneously. The use of the M-ary sequential probability ratio test (MSPRT) and multiple parallel binary sequential probability ratio tests are compared. Theoretical and numerical results show that the binary tests outperform the MSPRT in most cases
