Abstract
In this paper, electric drive specification determination for a split drive hybrid electric vehicle of which front wheels are driven by diesel internal combustion engine and rear wheels by an electric machine is given. Sizing study takes into account vehicle load force analysis. A MATLAB/Simulink model of a four wheel drive vehicle is developed to improve the sizing procedure. Following electric drive sizing, design and demonstration study is represented. Finally, design targets and achieved values are given. Also, hybrid electric vehicle acceleration test result is compared with simulation of the system.
