Abstract :
A new progressive image transmission algorithm using vector quantization is proposed. The algorithm has been implemented on the parallel architecture of the computational-RAM. Simulation results have shown that good quality multi-resolution images can be reconstructed with no extra effort in the codebook generation, and real-time compression is possible with low computational complexity
