Abstract
A fuzzy logic speed controller together with a dead-time compensator for the control of a high-performance induction motor drive is presented. The proposed method consists of two parts: one used to reduce the effects of load variations and the other to minimize the effects of system dead-time. A Smith predictor in conjunction with a fuzzy logic gain scheduled PI controller is compared with a classic fixed-gain PI control structure
