  • Abstract
Simulation of natural phenomena can improve the fidelity of virtual scene, which have been used widely in visual simulation system, city planning, distance education and other fields. The virtual campus can be created by excellent functions of 3D modeling on 3D Studio Max. Particle system is an effective method in simulation of real-time natural phenomena. On the basis of analyzing the realizing principle of particle system, this paper made use of the highly integrated software development environment provided by Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 to build particle model and implement roaming function based on OSG(OpenSceneGraph)2.6. Experiments show that this method can effectively represent the fog, snow, rain and other weather phenomena in 3D scenes with interactive functions.
