Abstract :
This paper presents an own designed low-cost and simple structured experimental set-up for applications of biomedical instrumentation courses. In this study, a commonly known circuit model of instrumentation amplifier for measuring ECG signals has been used. The analog signal taken from the instrumentation amplifier is converted to digital format for a PC based monitoring system. As a novelty, a PIC based analog to digital converter and PC software is designed. The proposed system is very useful for training of biopotential measurements. Students can comprehend biopotential sources and elimination of noises in electrical circuits easily.
