  • Abstract
    A new Cuk resonant high power factor single-phase AC-to-DC power converter for power factor correction which employs zero-current switching (ZCS) techniques is proposed in this paper. Merits of the proposed power converter include unity power factor, less harmonic content, zero switch loss, simpler control stage, higher power density and unidirectional power flow. Operating principle, design analysis, small-signal models and conditions for achieving zero switching loss for the proposed converter are described. Finally, some simulation and experimental results are discussed
