Abstract
The known 3-layered model of a human body (skin-fat-muscle) is applied to estimate maximum distances feasible for the communication between two in-vivo miniature electronic devices. It is notable that dimensions of these implants are assumed not to extend the thickness of the human fat layer. The effect of guided wave propagation in the selected 3-layered model is investigated and the gain coming from this effect is numerically analysed.
