Abstract
This paper discusses advances by the authors´ group in monolithic multiple colliding phase mode locking operation of semiconductor lasers and the application of these lasers to the generation 100s of GHz to THz frequency waves. We start with the AlGaAs/GaAs laser system and later consider some results on modelocking InP/InGaAsP lasers at around 1550 nm
