In 2010, China issued "National Plan for Medium and Long-term Educational Reform and Development (2010-2020 )", which considered education informatization as a national strategy and put forward that the informatization of rural basic education should be strengthened. As the most direct implementers of information technology education, the professional development of information technology teachers in rural primary and secondary schools not only decides the effect and quality of information technology course, but also plays a pivotal role in the informatization progress of rural basic education. This paper analyzes the current professional development modes of rural information technology teachers and comes up with the strategy of attaching importance to the professional development of rural information technology teachers on the basis of teacher online community while keeping the traditional concentrated training.
