Abstract :
Evergreen Solar now has a PVMaT subcontract awarded in 1998 and titled “Continuous, automated manufacturing of string ribbon Si PV modules”. A major part of this subcontract is the development of a low-cost, highly automated string ribbon process. String ribbon is a continuous vertical silicon ribbon method that is at the heart of Evergreen Solar´s innovative approach to reach the goal of low cost PV. As Evergreen Solar sets up its new multi-megawatt factory, this development will play a major role
