Abstract :
Underwater images suffer from various factors like non-uniform lightning, low contrast, color gets diminished, blurring etc. There are different algorithms to reduce underwater perturbations and improve the quality of the image. The quality of the image varies with the algorithm used. This paper considers three main such algorithms namely Homomorphic filtering, Anisotropic filtering and Autocontrast algorithm. Each algorithm is tested for noisy underwater images and the performances of these algorithms are evaluated by using parameters like SNR, MSE.
