Experience in Training Software Quality Engineers to Achieve a Professional Certification

Very little has been published on the subject of software quality certification training programs. This paper describes a case study on training software professionals to become certified software quality engineers (CSQE). We describe the design of the training course and practice exams, how we conducted the coaching of the students, and summarize the results obtained and the lessons learned during the three years we have offered the course. The experiences outlined in this paper might improve the design and implementation of intensive professional training courses intended at certifying software quality professionals.
