Abstract :
This paper presents the modelling and behaviour study of an induction generator excited by a current source inverter and supplying a diode bridge at constant output voltage. This system can be used in autonomous power generation applications with variable speed drives, such as wind, ocean wave or hydro power plants. The sliding contact circuits theory is used to obtain a global model of the systems. This model is valid for both steady-state and for dynamic behaviour and experimental and simulated results are presented to illustrate system response and the performance of the proposed modelling method
