Abstract :
Pyroelectric detection provides a cost-effective route to thermal imaging, combining reasonable performance with simple, uncooled operation. Thermal and electrical models of detector behaviour are described and array performance is predicted. This is compared with measured thermal and spatial sensitivities. A temperature resolution of 0.25 K (F1 optics, 300 K scene) has been observed in a 100×100 detector array
