Abstract :
A single-particle-layer piezoelectric-epoxy composite is proposed, and the relatively simple fabrication process is discussed. The optimized piezocomposite shows a low acoustic impedance (Z=9.9 Mrayl) and a low Qm of 9.1 with a high electromechanical coupling factor of 0.61 (which correlates closely with other composites-see). Apparently, due to the irregular mechanical structure of the piezocomposite, spurious resonance modes are suppressed in the radial direction. Further optimization of the single-particle-layer piezocomposite should include an effort to increase the fairly low dielectric constant and d33 for wider practical possibilities
