Abstract
Recent topics in ceramic actuators (piezoelectric/electrostrictive actuators) are reviewed, focusing on the improvement of the reliability and durability of these devices. The improvement of ceramic materials for actuators, the design of the devices, and control and systematization of the actuators are considered. The problems which have been studied, and some possible solutions to these problems, are outlined
