Abstract :
We derive an approximate statistical analysis method based on sensitivity analysis. This requires the computation of the derivatives of the results with respect to the design parameters, which can also be used in gradient based optimisation techniques. So, optimisation and statistical analysis can be performed in one run. From the many techniques used for computing derivatives with respect to design parameters, the most efficient, especially when the number of parameters becomes important, are adjoint-style sensitivity techniques. We use this method for the quasi-TEM analysis of multiconductor transmission lines in multilayered media.
