Abstract
Summary form only given. This presentation starts by describing the main functions of multimedia control applications with special emphasis on video surveillance systems. Based on this description the resource requirements of multimedia control applications are presented, in particular regarding the use of the processor, the memory, and the network bandwidth. Some real-world sequences are used to illustrate the presentation.
