Abstract
Remote monitoring of railway tracks and level crosses is a relevant field of study, these days. The paper analyzes the channel capacity of railway powerlines for providing the basis for development of various railway applications. The paper applies multi conductor transmission line theory to model the power lines and estimate channel capacity. The BPLC technology has underwent significant advancements through developments in coding and modulation.
