Abstract
In solving for the electric field inside an electrically small spherical particle, it is shown that an infinitesimal exclusionary volume around the dyadic Green´s function singularity must be used to obtain energy conservation and accurate values for the derived field. This cannot be guaranteed for finite excluded volumes.
