Abstract :
Risk managers within the finance sector have voiced an urgent need for a computer-based simulation to better understand emerging risks associated with cyber disruption of, and changes to, end-to-end business processes. It is in response to this need that Norwich University Applied Research Institutes (NUARI) has engaged industry stakeholders since January 2005 in creating a prototype simulation of the finance sector. The finance sector model (FSM) prototype has teamed the expertise of experienced simulation software developers with subject matter experts from the financial community. The FSM will serve to inform the full-scale development of Web*DECIDEtrade. The anticipated outcome will include a rich set of dynamic models that empower businesses to perform integrated risk management of cyber and physical vulnerabilities within the corporate organization.
