Abstract :
This paper presents the basic control scheme and some experimental results of the vector controlled AC drive with a current source inverter. The synchronization of the line commutated thyristor bridge to the line voltage is based on a space vector technique. The control of the motor inverter consists of models of the AC motor and the inverter, of a field oriented controller for motor flux and torque and of a speed controller. Required quantities to be measured are the motor voltage and the motor speed
