Abstract :
Issues like why Kao´s engineering related innovation is awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics 2009, why he is recognized as one who initiated both the search for and the development of low-loss fiber, why his achievements is regarded as groundbreaking, how does Kao evaluate himself and his achievement, and enlightenment we can learn on engineering innovation from Prof. Kao´s career are discussed in this presentation.
