Abstract :
For the purposes of treatment and prevention of injuries, it is required a detailed understanding of the motion texture exhibited in the fields of biomechanics, biomedical engineering, medicine and dance medicine. We are studying a new method to analyze and reconstruct human motions from motion capture data and extract the characteristics of motion texture. We propose to analyze one of characteristics of dance motion, self-organized criticality (SOC), using the developing complexity theory. We hope the extracted motion texture will give dancers, trainers and dancers´ physicians some advices preventing dance injuries. On the other hand, we know the ability of cerebral recognition is limited, from our assumption of SOC and executing chi-square test, it is considerable that human being can recognize 35-45 primitive dance motion patterns.
