Abstract
A very small 4GHz low phase noise oscillator has been developed for portable microwave measurement instrument. To miniaturize the oscillator, the combination of 17GHz (17.84GHz) DRO and a divide-by-four analog frequency divider was used. The oscillator provides excelllent phase noise of -120dBc/Hz at 100KHz offse?? from the carrier and temperature stability of ±150KHz over -200C to +80°C.
