  • Abstract
    In this paper, a dual-band circularly polarized rectangular loop slot antenna with notched hexagonal aperture fed by a microstrip line has been optimized for the UHF and microwave RFID applications. It is obvious that the antenna radiates bi-directional beam with the measured HPBW of 82 degree in YZ-plane and 66 degree in XZ-plane at the center frequency of the UHF band. The measured HPBW in YZ-plane and XZ-plane at 2.45 GHz are 90 degree and 70 degree. The measured axial ratios at the center frequency of the UHF and the microwave band are 0.09 dB and 0.55 dB, respectively. The proposed antenna can be efficiently used as the reader antenna of the UHF and microwave RFID systems.
