Abstract :
The feasibility of preparing SrxBa1-xNb2O6 (in the composition range 0.50⩽x⩽0.75) by both a mixed oxide and a sol-gel synthesis was demonstrated. By using the two-step process of pressureless sintering followed by oxygen hot isostatic pressing, transparent ceramics were formed. Microstructural, dielectric, piezoelectric, optical, and electrooptic properties were investigated
