Abstract :
Combined effects of the dispersion map and the fiber nonlinearity in the long-haul transmission system based on the PSK format are discussed. Studies show that the conventional block type dispersion map is not optimum for the RZ-DPSK based long-haul system. Bit-rate dependent system behavior is also discussed.
