Abstract
In this paper another multiple access technique for optical fiber channel is proposed: Optical Interleave Division Multiple Access Technique which provides an economic and flexible approach for local area networks mainly in large buildings or in a group of several buildings. Optical IDMA inherits the advantage of both Optical system and IDMA technique. It is demonstrated that optical IDMA has better bandwidth utilization and less multiple access interference. Optical IDMA technique shows that high performance can be maintained with large number of users.
