Abstract :
The paper proposes the application of complex strategic ANP network for supporting the decision-making process related to the choice of the best development strategy for the Corridor Genoa-Rotterdam. In particular, the objective of the work is to verify if this assessment process is suitable to develop a fruitful discussion on a large scale territorial problem. The developed ANP model is composed by two parts: a top-level strategic network, which aim is to generate a discussion among the stakeholders about future scenarios of economic and environmental development for the analyzed areas in order to determine the weights of the Benefits and Costs networks; an internal network structured in B/C networks aimed to investigate the specific aspects of the three alternative strategies coming to a final ranking. The complexity of the case under examination compelled for the implementation of the model of an iterative experts consultation that has been managed through a specific focus group and an online survey.
