Abstract
Adaptive Transform coding techniques for speech communication have recently received considerable attention. The basic concept of these methods is to divide the speech into frequency components by a suitable transform and then encode them using adaptive PCM. Examples of designs and performance of adaptive transform coders will be presented for bit rates in the range of 8 to 16 kbs.
