Abstract :
RoF is a transmission technique which uses fiber instead of atmosphere to transmit broadband signal. WiMAX is a broadband wireless access technique based on IEEE802.16 which provides user with low-cost, mobile and wireless broadband data services. In this paper, the features and application modes of WiMAX System are introduced. Then, the design of RoF based WiMAX system is given. After that, RoF´s applications in WiMAX system are illustrated. Finally, the advantages and prospect of RoF based WiMAX system are summrized.
