  • Abstract
    Based on Marotto´s theorem for discrete chaotic systems, this paper introduces a new 2-dimensional non autonomous discrete chaotic system. A chaotic pseudo-random number generator (CPNG) is designed based on the new system. Using the FIPS-140-2 tests verifies the random properties of pseudo-random sequences generated via the CPNG. The results showed that all pseudo-random sequences passed the tests. The confidence interval analysis showed that the CPNG can generate sound pseudo-random sequences.
