  • Abstract
In this paper, a fuzzy inference approach to the diagnosis of defects in surface mount assembly of PCBs was described. Most trouble shooting or problem solving tasks including diagnosis of defects in electronics assembly are typically characterized by inexact or incomplete knowledge. Fuzzy approaches can be applied to build inference mechanisms which are different from the traditional expert system approach
