Abstract
In the present study, a concave points-based segmentation algorithm is developed for overlapping or touching cell nuclei. The main character of the algorithm is that it detects concave points through analyzing perpendicular distance from nuclei contour points to the medial axis of the nuclei. Experiment results show that the algorithm can segment complicated nuclei clumps.
