Abstract :
This paper presents the design and implementation of a geographic information system based outage analysis system (OAS) which serves as the graphical focal point for information on the distribution networks. Developed to interact with other utility information systems in an integrated environment, OAS is the tool for the creation and maintenance of the feeder connectivity model which traces the electric connection from the substation all the way to the customer. The system has been applied to a pilot region in Istanbul and its performance in outage management is found to be very satisfactory
