Title :
From diversity to dynamic performances
Author :
Oustaloup, Alain
Abstract :
Summary form only given. Based on a diversity structured approach which is notably inspired by various natural forms of diversity (biological among others), this paper unquestionably offers a framework, on one hand, to the introduction of non-integer derivative as a modeling tool and, on the other hand, to the use of such a modeling form to put into light dynamic performances (and notably of damping) unsuspected in an ≪ integer ≫ approach of mechanics and automatic control. The ≪ non-integer ≫ approach indeed enables to overcome the mass-damping dilemma in mechanics and consequently the stability-precision dilemma in automatics.
