Abstract :
The paper introduces a novel kind of state diagram, based on the so called de Bruijn graphs, for the description of cyclic block codes. A series of interesting properties are related to such state diagrams and a new algebraic procedure is derived from these properties. Some examples of the state diagram construction and the decoding procedure are discussed
