Abstract :
Applying relativity theory and quantum mechanics, a formula calculating wavelength of the Kα X-ray is obtained considering three different relativity effects which are spin-orbit coupling, kinetic energy relativity effect and potential relativity effect. The wavelengths from 11 elements to 90 elements have been calculated and the effects of each effect on X-ray spectrum have been studied. Calculation values agree with experimental data. Results show that Kinetic Energy Relativity Effect will widen the energy gap, largen the transition frequency and shorten the wavelength, while the Spin-Orbit Coupling Effect has the counter-effect. Relativistic Effect is proportional to the square of Z and affect distinctly to the elements with large atom number.
